EVENTS FOR CHILDREN
Know Your Art: Henri Matisse
In this craft workshop, for kids between the ages of six and 12, children will be shown French artist Henri Matisse’s technique of drawing with scissors. The session will be followed by a talk on Matisse’s work.

FOOD
The Traveling Belly
Food writers Vikram Doctor and Kunal Vijaykar and caterer and food historian Kurush Dalal will be in a discussion with food blogger and author Kalyan Karmakar about his newly-released book The Traveling Belly.

Before the Flood
American director Fisher Stevens’s documentary Before The Flood (2016) follows actor Leonardo di Caprio as he travels across the world to examine the effects of climate change.

HERITAGE WALKS
Dramatic, Cinematic, Operatic Mumbai
Architect Kruti Garg will conduct a walk around the Grant Road East area, which still has a few old single-screen cinemas. She will talk about the history of cinema and theatre attached to the area. The walk will wrap up with a tour of the recently-restored Royal Opera House.
When: At 4.30pm.
Where: The walk will begin outside Alfred Talkies in Girgaon.

LITERATURE
Through the Looking Glass: The Dynamics of Translation
Bengali writer Rabisankar Bal and his translator Arunava Sinha and Kannada writer Vivek Shanbhag and his translator Srinath Perur will be in conversation with poet Sampurna Chattarji about the challenges of translation.

MUSIC
Sonam Kalra and the Sufi Gospel Project
Dehli-based vocalist Sonam Kalra and her band the Sufi Gospel Project will perform songs that blend traditional Sufi and gospel compositions.

Mumbai-residing Hindi fusion-rock band Bombay Bairag will perform.

Officina Zoe
Italian band Officina Zoe, which performs music for the folk dance form known as pizzica, will play a set.

Spencer Maybe
British singer and multi-instrumentalist Spencer Maybe, who is currently based in Goa, will present a set of songs that span the genres of folk, pop, rock, blues and country with his band.

Khamosh! Adalat Jaari Hai
Cineplay recording of a Hindi production of Vijay Tendulkar’s play, directed by Ritesh Menon, will be screened.

Tichya Aaichi Goshta Arthat Mazya Athavanincha Phad

‘Demystifying Hindustani Classical Music’ by Tushar Bhatia
At this two-hour workshop by Mumbai music events organisation Swardhara, founder and composer Tushar Bhatia will guide participants through the fundamentals of Hindustani classical music.

Crumbs! Breaking Down The Classic Foccacia
Saee Koranne-Khandekar, the author of Crumbs! Food Stories and Recipes for the Indian Kitchen, will make a case for baking bread at home.

Pallipuram Sunil and Paris Laxmi
The Kerala-residing husband-and-wife duo of kathakali dancer Pallipiuram Sunil and French bharatanatyam dancer and Malayalam film actress Paris Laxmi will present Krishna Mayam, a work based on stories from the life of Krishna.

Mumbai-based zumba trainer and her crew will perform the fitness exercise to a range of dance and music styles such as Bollywood, reggaeton and flamenco.

Architect Kruti Garg will conduct a tour of hotels and clubs in the Colaba area such as Esplanade Mansion, which was Watson’s Hotel in the nineteenth century, and the Royal Bombay Yacht Club. Attendees must register at the starting point of the tour.

Hope Street Poets

Tinkle Comic Factory

Padme by Anita Ratnam and Arangham Dance Theatre

InSync Dance Club
InSync, the dance club of the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, will perform a set of Bollywood fusion dances.

Mills and Docks – An Affair to Remember
Architect Kruti Garg will deliver a talk on the city’s history of trade and conduct a walk around the Kala Ghoda area, covering sites related to the textile and shipping industries. Attendees must gather at the starting point of the walk.
When: The talk is at 2.30pm; the walk will begin at 3.30pm.

Thrill of the Chase: The Case of the Crime Writer
Writers V. Sanjay Kumar and Arjun Gaind will discuss various styles of crime fiction.
