• Community, the all-day cafe and bar in Khar, has shut after a six-month run and been replaced by One Street Over, a new gastropub helmed by Kelvin Cheung, the former chef of Ellipsis in Colaba. Cheung, who quit his job at Ellipsis and left the city in August, returned to Mumbai in October to work on this new venture by Aallia Hospitality, the company behind Community that also runs Gangta’s in Bandra and Villa 69 in Juhu. The menu of globally-influenced small plates is a collaboration between Cheung and chef de cuisine Boo Kwang Kim, who previously worked at Chicago’s Little Goat restaurant. Highlights of the drinks menu include the Kelvinator (Jameson, Campari, Martini Rosso), negroni, Oaxaca high ball (Tequila, Cointreau, lemon juice and ginger ale), spiced Moscow mule and Pisco sour. The food menu will feature mushroom tacos; egg fried rice with kimchi; tempura fish tacos; lamb wonton; adobo pork; pork belly bun; kung pao broccoli; PB&J with baked brie; dulce de leche churros; and brown butter and maldon salt chocolate chip cookies. • The Bar Terminal, an all-day cafe and bar, is slated to open in Fort on Saturday, December 26. The fusion food menu will list tofu scramble; zucchini pancakes; handvo Caprese; tadkawali Maggi; aloo paratha with Burhani raita; cheese rumali; squash and toasted almond soup; pizza puchkas; Manchurian sandwich; pesto paneer bhurji; sizzling brownie with vanilla; and Ferrero Rocher mousse. You can choose from house cocktails such as the Illusion (vodka, Midori, pineapple juice and Irish cream), Unicorn (orange juice, basil, vodka, sour mix and smoke) and Majesty’s Cup (whisky, orange juice, fresh coriander and peach juice). The folks behind multi-cuisine vegetarian restaurant Spices and Flavours have opened The Bar Terminal, which has replaced their erstwhile property Bottle Bar. Open daily, from 11am to 1am. • Yellow Bar All Day, an all-day bar and restaurant, opened in Khar on Friday, December 18. The European menu at the 5,000 square feet establishment by restaurateurs Timmy Narang and Nicky Bedi will feature such dishes as chorizo and tomato egg pot; pork belly with green apple sauce; cous cous salad; smoked salmon and caper risotto; spinach and corn pie; walnut and zucchini cake; and chocolate and chilli jam mousse. The bar menu lists classic cocktails such as the espresso martini, mint julep, whisky sour and Manhattan. Open daily, from 11am to 11pm.
