After Thursday, February 11, South Mumbai residents won’t need to drive down to Lower Parel or beyond the Sea Link for their fix of confections from the Le15 Patisserie chain, which also has branches in Bandra and Andheri. The first Le15 Cafe is slated to open in Colaba, behind Regal Cinema, where in addition to their popular repertoire of desserts including cupcakes, macarons and choux pastries, they will serve savouries such as salads, sandwiches and waffles. The cafe will also offer an all-day breakfast menu, high tea and plated desserts, some of which will be paired with ice creams by city-based gourmet ice cream makers Sucres Des Terres. The coffee will be provided by single-estate coffee suppliers Blue Tokai from Delhi, the breads by bakery chain The Baker’s Dozen from Mumbai and the chocolate for the desserts by Mason & Co. from Auroville.
Proprietor Pooja Dhingra has enlisted the services of a number of her friends to fashion the venue. Pablo Naranjo Agular, a Colombian chef and Dhingra’s colleague from Le Cordon Bleu Paris, is the food consultant; The Busride design studio (The Bombay Canteen, Taj Mahal Tea House) has worked on the interiors of the 30-seater cafe; fashion designer Masaba Gupta has crafted the upholstery and Delhi-based leather goods label Nappa Dori has designed the menus.
The cafe is slated to open on Thursday, February 11.
