Tatami has replaced Kofuku in Bandra.
• Kofuku, the Japanese restaurant in Bandra, which has relocated to a new address within the suburb, has been replaced by another establishment specialising in the same cuisine, Tatami. The menu at Tatami lists sushi, sashimi, nigiri, hot pots and noodle and rice mains. On offer are kani temaki (crab meat roll); kappa maki roll (crunchy cucumber roll); chilli tofu donburi (ground pork and tofu with hot sauce); half moon chorizo sarada (sausage salad); seaweed sarada (salad); butter seared squid; ginger pork: okonomiyaki (seafood pancake); black cod in miso sauce; yuzu seared scallops; zaru soba (green tea noodles); and buta shabu shabu (pork hot pot). • An outlet of The Chocolate Room, a pan-Indian chain of coffee shops that’s present in Pune, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Gurgaon and Udaipur, has opened in Bandra West. This is the third Mumbai outpost of the chain, which is also in Andheri East, Kandivali East and Mulund West. The menu of beverages, waffles, pancakes, sandwiches, wraps and crepes is the same across the chain and features mint hot chocolate; Belgian chilli hot chocolate; butter mushroom croque; Caesar salad wrap; tandoori chicken crepe; tiramisu sundae; chocolate and date pizza; Kit Kat milkshake; and Tim Tam milkshake. • Andheri’s new pizza place 1441 Pizzeria, helmed by Italian chef Renato Viola, serves wood-fired thin-crust pies along with bruschetta, dough balls, Caprese salad and Nutella pizza. Diners can opt to customise their pizzas by choosing from a topping selection that includes Gorgonzola; zucchini; mushrooms; rocket; chicken; mutton; blue cheese; mozzarella; aubergines; jalapeños; and olives.
