New Delivery Services And Bars: Little Food Daily in Andheri, The Beer Cafe in Khar

OPENINGS
Little Food Daily (LFD), an online food delivery service, is slated to launch in Andheri on Friday, April 8. The venture by Bhakti Mehta, the founder and chef at six-year-old catering service the Little Food Co., will focus on seasonal and health-oriented gourmet meals such as BBQ grilled chicken with roasted carrot mash; Thai stir-fried vegetables with vermicelli; falafels, hummus and tabouleh bowl; shiitake mushroom broth with chicken and brown rice; Mexican burrito bowl with chipotle beans, salsa and sour cream; and spinach and feta omelette with caramelised onions. LFD, which will operate within Andheri West, will launch with an all-day breakfast and lunch menu and will cater dinners from May. Delivery will be free for a minimum order of Rs200. • Stephen Gomes, the Mumbai-born UK-based chef who was meant to debut in the city with The Mad Hatter, a modern Indian restaurant in Juhu in March 2015, will instead launch here with Chemistry 101, which will be housed inside the Kamala Mills compound in Lower Parel. The all-day gastro bar is scheduled to open on Friday, April 15.

Chaayos, the chain of tea cafes from Delhi, has launched an outpost in Lower Parel. The beverage and food menus are the same across the chain, which is also present in Bandra and Juhu. • A branch of The Beer Cafe has opened in Khar, bringing the pub chain’s total to seven outlets. The food and beer menus are the same across the outlets in Kurla, Mahim, Powai, Andheri West, Andheri East and Churchgate. Open daily, from 11am to midnight. • Global Chaos, a multi-cuisine restaurant serving pan-Asian, American, European and Middle Eastern fare, has opened in Fort. The menu lists pudina lamb chops; kokam jhinga served in a coconut shell; chicken Portofino; baked Brie; Vietnamese summer rolls; five spice pork ribs and wasabi paani puri. China Bay, a quick-service Chinese joint, has opened in Bandra. They serve kung pao chilli chicken; crispy chicken with basil; chilli basil paneer; Korean fried rice; noodles in oyster sauce; and Shanghai mushrooms. Here, you can also make your own wok with rice or noodles and a host of sauces, proteins and vegetables such as butter garlic; oyster chilli; black pepper; tofu; paneer; chicken; and prawns. CLOSING
• The flagship Khar outpost of Me So Happi, the casual-dining restaurant and bar chain, has shuttered after a two-year run. The chain now has two outlets operating in Bandra West and Bandra Kurla Complex.
