For their thirteenth episode of The Adventures of Cheap Beer, podcasters Karan Agarwal, Suyash Barve and Siddhant Mehta visited Kabootar Khana ‘hell’ hole Gopalkrishna or GK with voice-over artist Amal Rastogi. Barve and Mehta have been visiting the place since they were 19, and they call it the “hard-corest bar” they’ve ever been to. As always, Mehta gives us a brief introduction to the episode:
“Gopalkrishna is right next to Dadar railway station and has quite an impressive reputation in the area. The patrons of this bar talk tough and act tough, so one must keep a low profile here. This is clearly not a female-friendly location but late-night drinkers won’t be disturbed until at least 1am because even the police are reluctant to visit! The waiters were friendly enough and recommended the revelatory chana garlic fry and we had quite a blast with our guest, voice-over artist Amal Rastogi. In fact, while recording the podcast, Amal and Suyash got caught up in a head-to-head voice-over battle. It just goes to show that a lot can happen after a few drinks and some chana garlic fry.”
