• Pune brewpub Independence Brewing Company (IBC) is slated to open a taproom in Andheri West, in the third week of September. The two-storey, 1,800 square feet beer-focused bar will be a neighbour to Brewbot and within walking distance from The Pump Room Beer Factory and Doolally Taproom. Founder Shailendra Bist said that the Mumbai IBC will serve a minimum of eight of their house brews including a wheat beer, a pale ale and a stout or a porter. In addition, the bar will serve select spirits and other local brews on tap.
The Pune flagship of Independence Brewing Company will supply the brews to the Mumbai outpost and the food menu will be an edited version of the extensive multi-cuisine fare served there. The brewery will continue supplying their beers to the two branches of Woodside Inn in Colaba and Andheri.
• Hitchki, an all-day restaurant and bar with a nostalgia theme and menu serving regional fare, is slated to open in Kala Ghoda this month. Open daily, from 8am to 1.30am. • An outpost of Social, the chain of co-working spaces and bars, is slated to open in Goregaon this month, bringing their tally to seven outlets in Mumbai. Social, Oberoi Mall, off Western Express Highway, Goregaon.
