• Khaleesi, a Mediterranean bar named after the popular character from the HBO TV show Game of Thrones, opened in Andheri West on Saturday, November 12. The bar is housed within Mirabella, a fusion Indian restaurant owned by restaurateur Suvedh Lohia. Khaleesi and Mirabella share a bar menu that features cocktails such as tamarind chilli margarita; thyme, rosemary and lavender martini; pineapple ginger martini; and melon cooler. The food menu lists lamb mince cigars; chicken gyros; pulled lamb tacos; lahmacun (Turkish pizza); falafel sandwich; and chicken meatballs. Open daily, from 6pm to 1am. • Verandah 11, a vegetarian restaurant serving modern Indian food, opened in Fort on Monday, November 21. The menu lists palak patta chaat with sweet potato salad; kadhai paneer quesadillas; plantain kofta in moilee sauce; dabeli bruschetta; khandvi and feta rolls; nan khatai cheesecake; gajar halwa baklava; and chocolate golgappa. • Fort has a new bar called The Tipsy Townhouse, which replaced an outpost of Silver Beach Cafe on Friday, November 4. Their signature cocktails include jamun mojito; blueberry cheesecake martini; kiwi paan mojito; and spiced kokum mojito. The vegetarian food menu offers potato skin with cheese and sour cream; cheese and chilli toast; dal makhani risotto; penne vodka; lasagne; tiramisu; and New York cheesecake. • A branch of Theobroma, the patisserie and bakery chain, opened in Khar on Saturday, November 12. The outpost, the fourteenth in the city, serves cakes, pastries, brownies, cold sandwiches and select sweet and savoury bakes.
