One Great Dish: Bloom Bread at The Boston Butt

bloombreadmainMany restaurants in the city serve versions of cheese garlic bread, but few are worthy of the kind of praise we find ourselves singing for The Boston Butt‘s Bloom Bread. A carb and cheese-loaded starter, the dish stands out on a menu brimming with barbecued meats. Before it nests in the oven, the house-baked mollete (soft Spanish dinner rolls, which the restaurant serves as large buns) is sliced and diced, slathered with garlic butter and lavished with a delicious blend of Gouda and yellow cheddar. As it bakes, the cheese seeps into and soaks the sponge-soft loaf like molten gold. A garnish of fresh, diced spring onions is the final flourish on this indulgent appetiser well suited to the restaurant’s boozy cocktails. Rs272 (excluding taxes).
